In a joint statement issued at the end of their meeting, committee members complained they had not been contacted about recent sacking of six national coaches, including the coach of the Super Eagles, Shualbu Amodu, the appointment of new ones, screening of candidates for the vacant post of technical adviser, invitation to players into national teams, and others.

"In view of the fact that the technical committee has never been contacted for inputs, nor has any of our recommendations been taken into consideration. members present (at the meeting) hereby unanimously resolved to resign their membership of the technical committee." said the statement signed by nine of the 15 members of the committee. But one of the signatories to the statement. Kashimawo Laloko, later made a volte-face when he announced later that he had withdrawn his signature.
