Members of the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) have seized 1901 kilograms of smuggled turtle . meat and 15 kilograms of turtle shells from the bordering areas of Jessore. a BDR press release said yesterday, reports BSS.

The smuggled items were found after the BDR members challenged a truck at Daulatpur area of the district on 'Thursday.

According to the press release. the BDR troops fired five rounds of gun shots to the alleged smugglers while they were trying to escape. The smugglers, however, eventually managed to escape arrest.
