ded a stunning 34-run defeat on title-aspirants Kalabagan Krira Chakra at the Dhanmondi Cricket Sti'Hum yesterday

In a low-scoring affair. Wan. defending a modest total of 196 in the stipulated 50 overs, went on to skittle out Kalabagan for a paltry 162 with more than ten overs to spare to celebrate their second win in the 12-team elite group For Kalabagan. it was their first defeat alter two wins on a trot.

neered the stunning slump sharing seven wickets among them as the Dhanmondi outfit, after an inspiring start with their openers putting on 53 runs in 12.4 overs, lost their way in a maze.

Babu started the rot. removing four Kalabagan top-order batsmen with the addition of only seven runs to the total.

The right-arm seamer, aided by a heady concoction of an artificial tun and some reckless batting, first removed both the Kalabagan openers Liton (22) and Attar (19) in the 13th over. And then went on to capture one-down Selim Shahed for a duck in his next over before removing a portly Zakaria Imtiaz (1) in the 17th over, leaving Kalabagan reeling on 61 for 4. Babu eventually finished with 4 for 37 in this seven overs.

Shahid Sayeed, one of the two Pakistani imports, in a desperate attempt to put the Kalabagan innings together, scored a defiant 44 Bui once he was clean bowled by Monirui Islam. Kalabagan s hopes were evaporated.

Monirui ran through the middle-order, finished with three for 35 in his eight overs while new ball bowler Rakib Hossain, who mopped up the talk chipped in with two far 46.
