Hooper with his penetrating right arm off-spin, took 4-59 as the state side crashed to 170 all out in their second innings and had match figures of 7-123.

The tourists raced to 26 for one in their second Innings to seal victory with 11.3 overs to spare and with opener Adrian Griffith unbeaten on 23.

It look the West Indies Just 4.3 overs and less than 20 minutes to score the runs required for victory.

Western Australia trailed by 148 runs after the tourists de dared their first innings at 441-5 after Shivnarine Chan-derpaul made 135 on Saturday before retiring hurt.

Roland Holder moved on to make 68 before the morning declaration with Junior Murray unbeaten on 30.

The West Indies, who had been unimpressive in a series of limited-overs games in the first week of their tour, then found form in dismissing the state side for 170.

The state team were looking comfortable with 1 -70 in the opening 26 overs, but fell to

pieces once Benjamin had re moved opening pair Mark Lavender 115) and Mike Hii'srv

(37).

Western Australia s first timings century-maker Adam Gilchrist threatened to hold up the tourists again, but fell to Walsh after making a positive 36 from 53 deliveries.

Walsh took 2-47 tn supporting Hooper and Benjamin claimed 2-23.

Jimmy Adams put on the gloves and excelled by taking three excellent catches.

LLOYD'S CONCERN

Fast bowling spearhead Ambrose. star batsman Lara and wicketkeeper Murray are all under injury clouds less than two weeks before the first Test.

Ambrose and Lara have slight groin strains and Murray has a minor hamstring prob lew. team manager Clive Lloyd said here Sunday.

Ambrose and Murray were forced to leave the field for the last two sessions of the three-day game with Western Australia.

Lloyd said it seemed likely Ambrose would miss the team s only other first-class game, a four-day encounter against an Australian XI in Hobart from Friday, before the opening Test, starting Brisbane Friday week.

It was not clear whether the other two would be able to play in Hobert. he said.

Lloyd said it was disappointing to have so many injuries so close to a crucial series.
