"very positive." He said the delegation had fruitful discussions with the business personalities including the President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).

Referring to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). the Japanese delegation leader hoped that the economic and commercial ties between the two countries would further be intensified during the days to come.

Uwatoko said on their return home, they would report on the outcome of their visit to the Finance Minister of Japan who is also the President of Bangladesh-Japan Friendship Association.

The leader of the delegation further stressed the need for holding more seminars on investment and more meetings of the Japan-Bangladesh Joint Committee for Commercial and Economic Cooperation.

The Prime Minister said her government would welcome the setting up of a Japanese export processing zone (EPZ) in Bangladesh. "We are prepared to provide all kinds of facilities for materialising such ventures by the Japanese entrepreneurs.” she said.

The Prime Minister expressed her earnest hope that Japan would come in a bigger way to invest in Bangladesh taking full advantage of the existing Investment-friendly conditions and other facilities being provided to the foreign investors.

Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim. MP. FBCC1 President Yusuf Abdullah Harun. Secretary to Prime Minister Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir and Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Rashed Ahmed Chowdhury were also present on the occasion.
