MYMENSINGH. Nov 10: With heavy deployment of police and paramilitary BDR. the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) campus was calm, but houses of three JCD leaders al nearby villages came under attack allegedly by the Chhatra League activists today, reports UNB.

Editorial on page 4 i’olice arrested lour people in connection with vandalism and arson in the houses of JCD leaders at Boyra and Kay-otkhali villages.

The arrested were identified as Biplob. Nannu. Jamal and Bhulu.

Earlier, the agitated BCL workers brought out a procession on the campus protesting the killing of two of their colleagues — Kamal and Ranjit.

Supporters ofthe ruling party's student front allegedly ransacked and torched the houses of BAU unit JCD vice president Rafiq and organising secretary Hasu at Boyra. and of sports secretary Khaled at Kayotkhali.

Meanwhile, the namaj-e-janaza of Kamal was held at Amtala on the University campus today. Awami League and Chhatra League leaders attended the ianaza. Later, the bodies of Kamal and Ranjit were sent under police escort to their village homes.

The BAU students, teachers and employees declared mourning day tomorrow and will bring out a mourning procession on the campus.
