The young man, Md Gias Uddin, 25, who used to fill up visa application forms, outside the High Commission building, was injured in the head when an official of the High Commission dragged him into his office room and assaulted him at about 9:30 am, according to the General Diary (GD) filed with the Dhanmondl thana by the victim.

Some persons who do similar work like Glas there later alleged that after some time, he was kicked out of the compound by the official and that they took him to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.

In the GD. Gias said that he was assaulted when he entered the mission compound to collect money from one person for filling up visa application form. However, the reason for the reported assault could not be known Immediately.
