The Bureau of Anti-Corruption plans to file new cases against former premier Begum Zia's eldest son. Tareq Rahman, brother Syed Iskandar and their business partners for taking bank loan on overrated collateral, reports UNB.

The sources said Milon Mia. an ex-employee of the Eastern Housing company, purchased a 15-acre wetland In the city's Mirpur area on January 27. 1992 at a cost of Tk 2 lakh.

But within five days of the purchase. Tareq and his business partners had shown the worth of the land as their collateral overrating at Tk 1 crore. The land is now under 10-foot water.

On the basis of prirrth facie evidence, the Bureau is expected to file cases against them in a day or two.

Meanwhile, the Bureau had issued notices on Tareq and Syed Islandar for submitting the statement of their assets as they have allegedly amassed wealth.
