Detective Branch (DB) police yesterday arrested three dacoits and recovered a firearm and ammunition from near a market at Uttara in the city.

The arrested persons, identified as Abu Helal. 22, Nazrul. 26. and Abdur Rob. 25, were the members of an organised gang of dacoits. They were preparing for an attack on the market. Ra-jlaxml Complex, police sources said.

The DB team arrested them when they were moving towards the market in a white microbus at around 2:15 pm. police said. Police seized a revolver, and seven bullets from the possession of the arrested persons.

A case under Arms Act was lodged with Uttara thana in this connection, police added.
