GOPALGANJ. Aug 7 : Most of tbe hats and bazars of the Gopalganj district are laying in deplorable condition . causing much sufferings to the buyers and sellers.

Many hats and bazars of the district were set up by local initiative about 50 years ago. Shops -and sheds were built in haphazard manner. Roads of the markets are narrow. Besides the roads become muddy and slippery due to non-existence of drains and in some places the old drains are silted up due to lack of proper maintenance during the rainy season. People in the rural hats and bazars have to face untold sufferings and in some markets movements of vehicles become risky due to dilapidated condition of roads.

Garbages and rotten things are dumped in the markets polluting the environment and sweetmeat shops in an unhygienic way. Besides the prepared foods and sweets are keep in open places without any cover.

The large and important village markets, like Satpar, Ulpur. Bolltail Bherarhat. Kathi. Kazulia. Gobra. Pajkkandi. Gopinathpur. Kekania under Gopalganj sadar thana. Jalir-par. Moharajpur. Banogram. BhaUkamari and Ujani under Muksudpur thana.

Chapta. Sojail.w Paranpur, Nlzamkandi, Orakandi. Gopal -pur. Ramdla and Bhatiapara under Kasianl thana

Dumuria. Pathgati. Bashb aria. Kushli. Ghonauara. Shin-ghipara. Borani. and Charbayra under Tungipara thana. Gha-gor. Radhagonj. Mazabari. Tha-xail. Ashutia. Bhangharhat and Dharabashail under Kotalipara thana of the' district are beset with manifold problems. These important markets earn huge revenue but no steps are being taken for proper development of these markets during the last few years, it is alleged.
