The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic ol Sudan to Bangladesh. El Rasheed Khider presented his credentials to President Abdur Rahman Biswas at Bangabhaban yesterday, reports UNB

Welcoming the Sudanese envoy. President Biswas said relations of the two brotherly countries has been developing steadily since the establish ment of diplomatic ties be tween Bangladesh and Sudan in U173, . ,

Terming* the ie>«itMia| "based on the bonds of Ain-" mon faith and mutual respect.” the president hoped that the bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries will be further strengthened and diversified into different dimensions in future.

President Biswas also stressed much on expanding the existing trade relations which, he said, would benefit both the countries.

Ambassador El Rasheed Khider. in response, said Sudan is very much eager to extend bilateral trade relations with the brotherly country of Bangladesh.

He conveyed the greetings and good wishes of the president of Sudan Omer Hassan El-Bashir to the President, government and the people of Bangladesh.

Earlier, on arrival at Bangabhaban the Sudanese ambassador was given a guard of honour by the President s Guard Regiment. He took the salute and inspected the guard.
