A court in Dhaka yesterday convicted Rumana the accused of Lalmatia double mur der case and sentenced her to death by hanging, reports UNB

Prosecution case m short is that on October 2. 1994 Rumana the maid servant of Laimatia Chowdhury family brutally killed Nilufar Amatul Mania a lecturer of the Home Economics College and her grown-up daughter Mahjaben Chowdhury Shoma a second year student of Mymensingh Medical College at their Laima Ua residence with a botida

Police arrested Rumana from her village tiome at Char gobindapur of bhibalaya thana

under Manikganj district. A case was registered with Mo-hammadpur police in this connection.

The accused confessed her guilt under Section 164 Cr Pc. During the trial the court examined 18 witnesses and after the hearing Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Abdul Majid gave the verdict.

Assistant Public Prosecutor Masud Ahmed Talukdar conducted the prosecution case while the accused was defended by Advocate Abdul Latif Talukdar.
