Bangladesh Ambassador to Libya. Mohammad Shafiullah. presented his letter of credence to Zine El Abidine Ben Alt. President of the Republic of Tunisia as non-resident Bangladesh ambassador recently, reports BSS.

President Ben All evinced keen interest in the political and economic development of Bangladesh. He admired the people of Bangladesh for their zeal in upholding the principle of multi-party democracy and for earning self-sufficiency in food production for population of 120 million people.

Reciprocating the brotherly sentiment and converging position of both the countries on many regional and international issues, the Tunisian president expressed his desire to strengthen excellent bilateral political relations in the form of expansion of two-way trade and meaningful economic cooperation.

Ambassador Shafiullah in his turn expressed Bangladesh's keenness to develop and strengthen economic and commercial ties and offered to meet the entire requirement of raw jute, jute bags and other necessary items, of Tunisia through direct trade.
