Adviser of the caretaker ‘government Professor Muham mad Yunus, who is also founder of Grameen Bank, has been invited by Institute of Social Sciences to deliver the third DT Lakdawala memorial lecture next year In Delhi, reports BSS.

Professor DT Lakdawala was a noted economist and former deputy chairman of the Planning Commission of India. He was the founder and first chairman of the institute of social sciences which was founded Jn 1985.

The first memorial lecture was delivered in June 1994 by Professor Amartya Sen on "markets, 'social opportunities and economic development." The second lecture was held in February. 1996 at the Nehru memorial museum library auditorium and was delivered by Dr Mahbub ul Huq of Pakistan on "human development paradigm for south Asia, says a press release.

Professor Yunus will deliver the third lecture in the series tn June '97.
