An all round performance by Sajal Chowdhury steered Bangladesh K(lra Sblkkhti Protisthan (BKSP) into the aeniifi-

nala of the I6th national youth cricket championship with a sensational lie-break win over Rajshahi DSA at the Dhaka Stadium yesterday.

After scoring highest 79 for his side in the morning which saw BKSP. the defending champions, collecting 182 for nine in the stipulated 45 overs. Sajal took the last two Rajshahi wickets in two successive deliveries keepirtg them locked on 182 in 44.2 overs, still one short of a victory. BKSP emerged winners for losing less number of wickets. Sajal finished with two for 22 runs. He was equally supported by Saikat who captured two for 20.

Put Into bat. BKSP suffered a severe setback when they saw their top four batsmen return to the dressing room with the scoreboard on 16 tn 7 5 overs. But. a responsible innings from Sajal. the skipper, and other BKSP boys Nasim (28) and Zahid (25). enabled the reigning champions to end their Innings on a respectable note Sajal. coming to bat at number six after the Initial collapse. added 66 valuable runs with Nasim for the fifth wicket and another 74 runs with Zahid for the sixth leaving hie side on 156 when he was dismissed in the 41st over. Sajal faced 88 balls for hie 79 which includes five boundaries and a In the remaining 25 balls of their innings. BKSP lost a further three wickets with the addition of 26 runs to close their account on 182 for nine at the end of 45 overs.

For Rajshahi. Rashedul and Ripon captured three wickets each conceding 15 and 39 runs respectively

In the day's other quarterfinal. Khulna DSA trounced Dlnajpur DSA by 36 runs at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium.

Put tn to bat. Khulna were ail out for 234 in 44.3 overs with opener M Islam hammer Ing highest 71 off 66 balls. Barkatullah Turk! (33) and Hasan Setu (24) were the other leading scorers for Khulna.

In reply. Dlnajpur were booked for 198 in 42.1 overs.

Khulna's new-ball bowler Litoh captured six wickets for 48 runs from his alloted nine overs.
