The BNP Parliamentary Board yesterday completed interviews of 236 nomination seekers for the 59 parliarfien-tary seats under Chittagong division for the coming June 12 polls, according to party sources

Headed by BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. the parliamentary board started tak ing the interviews from 10:30 am at the party election office at Kakrail in the city.

He added that interviews of the nomination seekers from Sylhet and Barisal divisions would be held tomorrow and those from Ra|shahi and Khulna divisions the day after The interviews would start at 9 am everyday, he said

Among those who faced the BNP nomination board, com prising all 13 members of the party* standing committee and the presidents and secretaries of the respective district* unit*, were party chief Khaleda Zia (for freni-H. Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain Col (retd) Oli Ahmed. Barrister Raflqul Islam Mia, Jamaluddln Ahmed, Morshed Khan, Abdullah Al Noman. Col (retd) Akbar Hossain. MK Anwar. LK Siddiqui and Red wan Ahmed. Harun ur-Rashid. an applicant from Brahmanbaria under the Chittagong division, who failed to appear before the nomination board yesterday, is expected to face interview today.

The highest number of BNP nomination seekers, from the Chittagong division, who appeared for interviews yesterday, was nine each from Chittagong-1 and Laxmipur-l seats, Nazrul Islam Khan said. He added that from the Cox's Bazar 3 and a few other seats there were single applicants. On an average, ne pointed out. four applicants were seeking BNP nomination for each seat.

UNB adds: The districts are: Brahmanbaria. Comilla. Chand-pur. Feni. Lakshmipur, Noakhali, Chittagong. Cox's Bazar. Rangamati, Khagrach hari and Bandarban.

Begum Khaleda Zia who had procured five nomination forms has sought party nominations from Feni-1 seat and Chittagong-1. She is expected to seek nomination from three other seats. Begum Zia is the lone candidate for Feni-1 seat.

Oli Ahmed has also sought nomination from two seats in Chittagong district. Former JP leader Manbubur Rahman who joined BNP on Friday has sought nomination from Feni-
