the v nposium, likely to take phu-c sometime this month, is expected to be participated by intellectuals, bank managers and businessmen from Arab countries. The’ symposium will study the possibility of ereating a bank similar to the Grameen Bank in the Arab region.

Dr Yunus when contacted yesterday said that he will in form, the organisers that the proposed time for the symposium may not be convenient for him because of his current assignment as an adviser of the caretaker government. He said he will request for a change in the timing. He said the Grameen Bank idea has already been replicated in Egypt and Lebanon.

Asked about his reaction on being an adviser. Dr Yunus said, that it is a daunting task where the primary responsibility Would be to restore law and order and get the wheels of the economy moving.
