TEHRAN. Apr 3: Iran on Tuesday blasted a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres to Oman and Qatar, saying the Jewish state was trying to break Muslim unity, reports Reuter.

A foreign ministry spokesman quoted by state-run Tehran radio, said "the visits by the officials of the Zionist regime (Israel) alm to break Muslim unity and to infiltrate the ranks of Islamic and Arab stales.”

Peres on Tuesday ended a landmark two-day visit to Oman and Qatar — two Gulf Arab states with which Iran, the region's non Arab power, has good ties. .

The Iranian spokesman urged regional states not to allow Shimon Peres to Justify the Zionist regime's crimes and its occupation of Palestine and other Islamic and Arab lands, •the radio reported.
