SARAJEVO. Apr 3: The President of the world Bank urged potential donor nations to Bosnia yesterday to press ahedd with a pledging conference to drump up cash for the shattered former Yugoslav republic or risk a resumption of hostilities, exports AFP.

James Wolfensohn told lournalists here at the end of a I wo-day to Sarajevo, during which Bosnia joined the World Bank, that the international community must forge on with a conference scheduled for later this month to raise bH-= lions of dollars for Bosnia

It’s in the interest of everybody. that we are able to proceed speedily and with urgency." Wolfensohn said.

"There is an extreme sense of urgency to get employment, housing and the economy -starting.1' Wolfensohn said.

"It's not a political judgement it's a human judgement." The World Bank has estimated that Bosnia will need as" much as 5.1 billion dollars in all over the next three years to recover from the ravages of a 43-month conflict which left .infrastructure devastated and gross domestic product a fraction of its pre-war level.

Donor countries agreed in March to meet in Brussels on April 12-13 for a second conference after pleading 600 million dollars in a first gathering in December.

Next week's aid fair was. however, made conditional on the three warring factions closely sticking to the terms of the Dayton peace accords, certain aspects of which, partlcu-

larly prisoner release and freedom of movements aspects, have yet to fully implemented despite lapsed deadlines.

But Wolfensohn said donors should press on with the con-

lerenqaarrspectlve of the situation on the ground.

Two-thirds of development aid Is earmarked for the Mus-lim-Craot Federation, while one-third will go to the Bosnian Serbs.-
