Prof Emajuddin Ahmed. Vice Chancellor of the Dhaka University yesterday urged all concerned to play their due role in maintaining congenial atmosphere on the campus so that the past academic losses could be made up soon.

The Vice Chancellor said that the academic activities of the university were disrupted badly over the last few months due to the volatile political situation of the country.

He was addressing a press briefing at his residence yesterday evening.

The classes of DU could not be resumed even after the installation of the caretaker government.

The. classes will resume on April 6.

The VC told the Journalists that he had already met different administrative bodies of the university and sought their cooperation of smooth running of tne university.

He also met the leaders of different student organisations active on the campus and urged them- to help the DU ' administration maintain peace on the campus.

He urged them not pass any provocative remarks about any political leaders.

The VC said that he would meet the Chief Adviser in a day

or two and apprise him of the DU situation.

The VC requested the journalists to restrain themselves from reporting provocative utterances' If any. by the student organisations as a gesture of goodness and for the greater interest.

Meanwhile, with only two . days left to reopen the university the situation remained a bit tensed in some of the residential halls. Some students alleged, despite Tuesday's raids in six halls, more arms and ammunition still remained unearthed.

. Meanwhile authorities have imposed restrictions on the movement of the students in some dormitories.

A notice ordering the students not to return after 11:30 pm the hall was posted on the wall of the Mohsin Hall on behalf of the hall union. But it was learnt that most of the hall union members. Including VP, GS and AGS were not staying in the hall.

Meanwhile some students of Zahurul Haq Hall brought out a procession on the cam-Emd later held a rally at the ajeo Bangla. demanding se of Masum Ahmed. GS of the hall union, who was arrested Tuesday.
