Prof Anwarul Azim. Head. Department of Industrial and Production Engineering. BUET has been elected as president of the Institution of Engineers. Bangladesh (IEB) for 1996-97. The election was held recently. says a press release.

An educationist and an engineer, Prof. Azim obtained his B.Sc. Engineering degree in 1961 from the then Ahsanullah Engineering College He did his doctorate in Germany. Besides his long teaching experience he was also the Dean of Mechanical Engineering Faculty and Director of Continuing Education Directorate.
