"This government will have to stop the farcical polls to pave the way for conducting elections under a neutral, non-party caretaker government." she said while exchanging views with the editors of different newspapers at her party's Dhanmondi office yesterday.

She said it is clear to all that the BNP was not accepting the demand for elections under caretaker government Just for clinging to power.

They (BNP) want to stay in power through rigging. So they are trying to nolcf the polls with the killers of '75. excluding all the opposition political parties and ignoring

the demand of the people."

The BNP is trying to revert the country to '88 by dishonouring the democracy insrtyfsrHasina said, adding that her party demanded, at least three elections under caretaker government to stabilise democracy and ensure peace.

Referring to the police attack on the students at the Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University, the opposition leader said the "inhuman attack" reminded the torture of 1971.

People of the country were passing their days in utmost uncertainty, law and order situation deteriorated further and reign of terror and torture continued throughout the country, she said.

There is no alternative to the movement to save the

country from "repression" by the BNP government, the Awami League chief told the editors and called upon the people to intensify the current movement for vote and food.
