Media is nothing but the product of the usage of the brains of great minds like Edison. Graham Bell. Mar-oni. Fleming etc.

Mass Media to be correctly defined, is any sort of agency or channel by which the mass, or the large group of people of a country can gain knowledge, information or entertainment.

As we all know. Bangladesh is a poor country. It is therefore essential, that the masses, in order to be Eroductive. should at least sve access to information, on what Is going on and in the outside world and how other countries are being more developed day by day.-

Ever since Radios were introduced in Bangladesh as a form of mass media, they have been very popular. In Sie of the fact that most of

of radios have been sold and they are now found in almost in every nook and corner of the country. This shows that there is a great desire In the people to oe Informed and entertained;

Bangladesh, in 1964 experienced a revolution in the field of mass media — the instantaneous transmission of moving Images along with sound waves only through a carton sized cuboid. Yes. you are correct. It is the television I'm talking about. This is something which you and 1

watch all the time — Star Movies. Prime Sports. BBC. CNN — what not. Since the television had arrived in the country in 1964, it has proved to be one of the most popular and largest selling electronic gadgets.

BTV has a programme called "Open University." This programme serves as an open air class for those university students who are unable to enroll in a regular university due to various reasons, however the mass benefit from this programme as well.

Mass media like journalism. newspapers, periodicals. communication, broadcasting — all play very a significant roles in our daily lives. Without these, life would be pretty dull.

In an underdeveloped nation like Bangladesh, it is important for the masses to have access to entertainment. knowledge and information in whatever form. Therefore. it is our duty to see that new and inexpensive forms of mass media Is introduced in order to create public awareness and bring out the best of this great golden nation —- Bangladesh.
