seven wickets victory against lowly Gulshan Youth in the Premier league at the Dhaka Stadium, reports UNB.

Chasing a modest 151 runs for victory the stylish national middle order hit five fours to make exactly 50 runs in his unbeaten 75-ball innings and enabled co-holders Mohammedan SC to reach the target easily for three wickets in 36.1 overs.

Shahed was well supported by the country's best middle order bat Mlnhazul Abedin Nannu. who also remained not out on 37 off 55 balls that included four fours.

They put 89 runs in 108 balls to carve out the fourth successive victory for the Damal Summer champions after the two openers — Jahangir Alam (15) and Mustadir Litu (32) — and

skipper Aminul Islam Bulbul (5) were sent back in the space of 14 runs.

For once. Mohammedans did not field any foreign player in the match.

Earlier, opting to bat first. Gulshan Youth were all out for 151 In 43.1 overs facing the Mohammedan pace trio — Shanta. Sumon. and Sujon — who shared seven wickets among them.

Shanta's three-wicket haul included Gulshan skipper Ripon (23). and tailenders Al Amin (14) and Talha (3) for 31 runs. Sujon claimed two wickets, including the second highest scorer Zaiul Haq (25). for 25 runs while Sumon bagged two wickets for 26.

Middle order Sohel. the Gulshan highest contributor, was run out for 35 runs.

Wanderers Club by four wickets.

Sent in to bat first. Dhaka Wanderers were restricted at 198 for seven in the allotted 50 overs with Sayeed Monirul Haq top scoring with 81 runs off 104 balls.

The other two major contribution came from tailender Totam (36 off 32 balls) and non-striking opener Kiron who made 30.

Victoria’s opening bowler Timeer captured • three wickets for 38 runs while Indians Chetan Sharma and Rajinder Singh, and Nahid took one each.

In reply. Victoria SC reached their target making 202 runs for six wickets thanks mainly to national cap Al Shahriar Rokon (76 off 134 balls) and a fine unbeaten 64 in 73 balls by Sharma.

Joint holders Abahani KC will meet Eskaton Sabuj Sangha at the Dhaka National Stadium today while Brothers Union will face Agrani Bank in the other match.
