The progress toward the goals set for 1995 on children and women's affairs in Bangladesh was worth men tioning, according to the UNICEF's State of World Children Report. 1996.

Preliminary findings of a UNICEF survey showed that the country exceeded Its targets set for 1995 for use of oral rehydrant, enrollment of children between age six and ten into schools, and supply of safe-drinking water and better sanitation, it said.

The goal set for use of oral rehydrani was 80 per cent in 1993. The achievement was 96 per cent, the survey results said.

The target for primary school enrollment was 82 per cent while It .exceeded the target by one per cent in 1995. it said.

While the goals for providing potable water and sanitary latrines were 80 per cent and 34 per cent respectively. they rose to 98 per cent and 45 per cent by November this year.

The UNICEF survey showed that while in measles. DPT and polio Immunization status was 54 and 62 per cent respectively in 1990. It shot up to 78 per cent and 69 per cent in 1995.
