Chairman of the organisation Muslehuddln Ahmad and Journalist Ataus Samad, in a statement proposed that the Election Commission should reschedule the elections, reflecting the opinions of dif ferent parties.

Civic Watch, an organisation of some conscious citizens. suggested that, in order to create an environment, congenial for holding polls, both Khaleda Zia and Sheikh Hasina should form a high powered non-partisan coordination committee to assist the President in running the administration.

Outlining a neutral supervision over the governance during the general elections, it pointed out that the Prime Minister should simultaneously dissolve the cabinet and resign according to her previous announcement.

. The Prime Minister would advise the President to govern the country as f>er Article 48(2) of the Cpnstltution with the assistance of the coordination committee the statement said. This process would uphold Articles 48(3) 48(5) and 57(3) of the Constitution." it added. "And this system would virtually help create a non-partisan supervision over the interim government and. therefore, reflect both the opinions of the government and the Opposition.''

The President can promulgate laws through an ordinance during this period for fair election at the, request of the EC.
