CHANDPUR, Nov 10: The student leaders of Chandpur Government University College in a press conference at Chandpur Press Club recently demanded introduction of Honours and Masters courses in some more subjects in the college.

Honours course in four subjects. Political Science. Economics. Accountancy and Bengali have been Introduced so far with a limitation of 45 seats in each department.

Every year about 300 students seek admission in each department. But due to seat constraint many of them fail to get enrolled.

The student leaders demanded introduction of Honours courses In subjects like History. Social Welfare. Management. Geography.

Philosophy. Zoology. Botany. Mathematics. Physics and Chemistry.

The college now offers Masters degree in Political Science, Economics and Accountancy. While Bengali has been introduced in Honours course but not in Masters degree

Furthermore. MA preliminary has been Introduced wlih a seat limitation of 30. but MA final has not yet been Introduced.

The leaders urged the Na tional University authorities to enhance the seat from 30 to 100, While the Principal told this correspondent that an appeal to National University authorities has already been made to Increase the accommodation
