CHUADANGA. Nov 10: Bumper aman production is expected in four thanas of Chuadanga district during the current transplanted aman production season.
The four thanas of Chu^anga district are Chuadanga sadar. Alamdanga, Damurhuda and Jibannagar.
According to an official source during the current transplanted season a total of 31.500 hectars of land have been brought under aman cultivation in the district of which 7.500 hectars have been brought under cultivation in Chuadanga sadar thana. 12.000 hectare in Alamdanga thana. 6,500 hectars in Darurduda thana and 5.500 hectars in Jibannagar thana.
The prospect of aman crop in all those four thanas of the district appeared to be very bright this year compared to previous year.
According to farmers the nature greatly favoured the farmers to get plantation and growth of paddy plants this year in the district. The rain-fall in the district during the current transplanted cultivation season was up to the mark. There was no seed and fertilizer crisis during this season.
The standing aman paddy now in the field appears to be
very hopeful. The attack of pest during the current season was within limit.
According to an unofficial estimation it is expected that during the current season over 35,00.000 maunds of aman paddy (transplantedhvill be produced in all the four thanas of the district.
It is expected that the harvesting of transplanted aman paddy of the current seasonwillbe started throughout Chuadanga district within 15 to 20 days.
It may be noted here that due to severe drought the production of aman paddy was very low during the last year as a result the price of rice was too much abnormal and high round the year.
