Income-generating programme in Lalmonirhat

LALMONIRHAT. Nov 10: A massive income-generating programme was launched in the district on Thursday, reports UNB.

Lalmonirhat Gano Shikkya Samity has undertaken the programme styled as "Lalmonirhat District Socio-Economic Development and Poverty Alleviation Programme'' to alleviate poverty of about two lakh poor families.

Under the programme the distressed families will be provided with loan for taking income generating activities. Some 20,000 workers have been employed to work at district, thana, union and ward levels to provide and monitor the loan.
