SATKHIRA. Sept 8: Ala uddin Sardar. Judge Special Tribunal Court Satkhira convicted one Mizanur Rahman of village Pakuiia and Kalaroa thana and sentenced him to suffer ten years rigorous imprisonment and to pay fine of Taka 10.000. On charge of smuggling and in the same case, the other accused Rahmatullah Gazi of village Sonabaria under the same thana was awarded 5 years rigorous imprisoninent and a fine of Taka 6000 by the same judge recently.

The prosecution story in brief is that the said accused persons while smuggling Bangladeshi polyester cloth worth Taka 2 lakh out of Bangladesh to India and reached Sonabaria village, the BDR jjersonnel caught them red handed on May 12. 1993.

A case was lodged with Kalaroa police station and after investigation police submitted chargesheet against them.
