I Education ICAMPEI a non | government organisation consisted of 37 different so cio c ultural organisations, brought out a c olourful rally which paraded from National Museum >o National Press Club in the morning.

CAMPE, which fixed this year's slogan as Standard education for all." also organised discussion, rallies, literacy campaign, cinema slide exhibition, art competition for children, debate and essay competition and motivational programme on literacy at 18 district levels through its units.

Bangladesh-2000, a voluntary organisation based in Dhaka, also organised a discussion on 'Role of educated youths in mass literacy programme In Bangladesh' here.

Association for Realisation of Basic Needs (ARBAN) also held a seminar.

Meanwhile, the day was also observed in the Chittagong city and elsewhere in the district with special emphasis on collective efforts of all quarters to implement the education programme for all by the year 2000.
