MOSCOW, June 5: Foreign Minister Andrei Kozyrev said today that Moscow was opposed to Western planes to set up a rapid reaction force (RRF) for Bosnia, saying It would signal the end of peace efforts by the "contact group," reports AFP.

"The introduction of offensive tasks will mean a final end to all we have been discussing in the framework of the contact group" on Bosnia, said Kozyrev, quoted by the Interfax news agency.

The rapid reaction force in Bosnia will have a total capacity of 14.000 men.

The formation of the RRF was announced in Paris Saturday. Three countries have so far pledged to provide troops in the first instance France and Britain will each send 1.500 men and the Netherlands 300. The figure will eventually amount to 4,000-5,000 men.
