The Ganatantrik Oikya Parishad (GOP) has won all the 25 posts of registered graduates' representatives to the Dhaka University Senate, according to unofficial results of the election available yesterday.

A total of 6336 registered graduates from across the country elected the 25 representatives for a three-year tenure.

Candidates'from three panels — GOP (supporters of the Awami League and left parties). While (supporters of the BNP) and third one comprising sup-porters of Jamaat-e-Islam! and Jaliya'Party — contested'the elections.

Dr A A M S Arelln Siddique. Chairman of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of the university, secured the higliest number of votes. 8172.

Prof Abdul Mannan Chowdhury and Ramendu Majumder secured second and third positions respectively, bagging 200.7 and 1992 votes.

The others elected are: Ismat Kadir Gama. Afroza Nahar. Khaleda Habib. Prof Akhtaruzzaman. ATM Nurur Rahman Khan. Mahfuza Khan ora. Abdus Salam Talukder. Dr Md Enamul Huq. Md Ohldu zzaman. Azixul Islam Bhuiyan. Shamsuzzaman Khan. Md Enamul Huq. Habibur Rahman Khan. Dr Md Harun-Ur-Rashid. Manzurul Islam Shahjalal Ma jumder, Wazaei Faruque. Nilu far Begum. Kazi Akrsmuddln Ahmed, Syed Ahmed, Syed Mudassei Ali and Syed Recaur Rahman

The elections were held In Iwo phases — outside Dhaka on Sunday and hi Dhaka on Wednesday
