CHITTAGONG. May 4 The weekly tea sale held here Tuesday was marked by selec tlve demand as buyers for different grades of teas were less active, market sources said, reports BSS.

It was the first sale of the season and both Internal and export buyers showed interest for only limited quantities of teas. The prices were well below the sellers' expectation and withdrawals were heavy

The bright leature of the sale was however, the good demand for the dust catalogue supported by internal market.

Market sources also said that tea production may not be upto expectation this season because of unfavourable weather.

Large and bold brokens met

with only a limited demand and sold between Tk 42/ 50 and Tk 43/-80 per kg with fair withdrawals Medium brokeris met with some interest but prices ranged between Tk 44/- and Tk 46/- per kg. Smaller brokens sold between Tk 46/-50 gnd Tk 48/ 50

There was only a fair interest for all pek tannings. Grainy clean types sold between Tk 48/50 and Tk 49/50 with only a few lines selling between Tk 50/ and Tk 51/-. All others sold between Tk 44/- and Tk 47/ .

1.975 chests of dust on offer met with a good demand with clean good liquoring red dust selling between Tk 52/ and Tk 54/-60 while its corresponding pek dust sold Tk 2/-lower.
