CALCUTTA. Feb 1: Imran Khan, a 33-year-old physical instructor from Bokaro has created a world record by running 429 days covering 19.894 kms. reports PTI.

The earlier record belonged to Sarah Convington Fulcher of the USA who ran for 441 days covering 17.918 kms in J 987-88.

Khan, who set out from his home town on September 12. 1993 coveted 16 states of the country from New Delhi to Gujrat to Kanyakumari and then to West Bengla and then finally concluded his run at Rajghat in New Delhi on ■November 14, 1994.

"I set off from my home town to spread the message of communal harmony all over the country and in the process create a new world record also" Khan said.

Khan had already written to I he Guinness Book of World Records about his feat.
