The JaUya Mohlla Sangstha has imparted training and pro tided loans of Tk 2.74 crore to 400 poor women under its ur ban based development project for self-employment of women, report* UNB.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Begum Sarwarl Rehman disclosed this at a certificate-distribution ceremony organised by the sangatha's head office here yesterday

Begum Rahman sakl. the ac tunics of the san gatha, inlti ated by late President Ziaur Rahman, were expanded at district, thana and union levels, and some 24 training centres were set up In Dhaka during Zia’s regime

The government has reconstituted the committees in the district level, and project activities st 150 thanas has al ready gone In operation, she said

The state minister urged the project officials to design training courses for women trainees keeping in view of the demand of the market and utility of the products so that tltev ran easily wll their home

made products.
