Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia yesterday sought cooperation of all quarters in her gpveWimenfs efforts for developing the lifestyle of the people of al! strata and faiths, re-ports UNB.

"We have’ been making relentless efforts for the development and prosperity of the people from all walks of life and irrespective of religion, caste and status. We seek cooperation of all quarters in our endeavours." she said.

The Prime Minister was addressing the ’Holy Kathina See Page 12 Col 3Chivara Dana (offering of yellow robes to monks)' ceremony and 10th anniversary of the Bangladesh Foundation of Buddhist Federation and National Buddhist Conference at the International Buddhist Monastery In the capital in the evening.

She told the function that her government had taken all necessary measures so the people of all faiths could contribute to the country's development activities equally.

"We believe in religious harmony. We are equally respectful of all religions." Begum Zia said, adding ‘Bangladesh is a shining example of '• religious harmony In the world, where all can 'practise their respective religious rites freely.

Referring to her government steps taken for the welfare of Buddhists, she said the government had undertaken various welfare oriented measures. including financial assistance on regular basis, renovation and rehabilitation of Bud-dhisl institutions and establishment of religious library in different parts of the country.
