HIROSHIMA. Oct 9: Jordan's Princess Haya was taken to the hospital Sunday after falling from her horse during equestrian competition at the Aslan Games, but was soon released, reports AP.

The 20-year-old princess, the daughter of King Hussein, fell beneath her horse when it failed to clear the 1.2 metre (4-foot)-high fifth obstacle on the jumping course.

Officials initially feared that she might have been trodden on by the horse. Sparky One. which ran off after the fall.

But Dr Tsuyoshi Hirai, head physician at the Asa Shimin Hospital, where the princess was taken after a quick on-site medical check, said she was not seriously injured and was released shortly after her arrival.

"She's fine,"- he said in a news conference at the hospital.

The princess, who has been closely followed by the media because of her royal background. had been jumping well prior to the miss and stood in 23rd place after preliminary rounds.
