The 50th anniversary of the D-Day. commemorating the historic landing of the Allied Forces in Normandy beachheads to liberate France will be celebrated through a number of ceremonies all over the world at the initiative of the Ministries of Cultural Affairs and Foreign Affairs of the Government of France, says a press release.

To commemorate this great event, the cultural ’ section of the Embassy of France in Bangladesh will hold a photographic exhibition from 6 June to 16 June at the premises of the Alliance Francaise In Dhanmondl.

Jean-Michel Lacombe, Ambassador of France, will Inaugurate the exhibition on behalf of the Government of France and the Ambassadors and High Commissioners of the United States of America, Great Britain. Canada and Australia will attend and deliver speeches.

The most Important and colourful function will take place in Normandy where the Heads of States of France. United States. United Kingdom. Canada. Australia. Belgium. Netherlands. Norway. Poland, Denmark and Luxembourg will attend a number of ceremonies including a Joint commemoration at Omaha Beach.
