A seven-member Bhutanese trade delegation-is in Dhaka to identify the potential exportable products of Bangladesh for a single country trade fair to be held in Bhutan sometime in September this year.

The delegation, led by the Vice President of the Bhutanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has already held meetings with represer' ••Ives of various manufactu.. . ’ exporter groups.

It Is making contacts with prospective Bangladeshi exporters through the Export Promotion Bureau and different Chamber bodies.

The fair is being seen as a special opportunity and an honour fot Bangladeshi pro ducers and entrepreneurs. The objective is to narrow down the widening trade imbalance between the two countries and open new vistas of trade transactions. a Bhutanese embassy source indicated.

The Bangladeshi products to be displayed at the trade fair Include chemicals and detergents, drugs and phannaceutl-cals, dry fish, electrical goods, telephone sets and electric cables. ceramic and melamine products, ready-made garments. dairy products. The Bhutanese Embassy In a press release said, the trade fair will facilitate the promotion and popularisation of Bangladeshi products to the Bhutanese consumers. It will also serve as a meeting place for the buyers and sellers of the two countries.
