Bangladesh Biman were poised for a place in the Cup final of the office cricket league when they beat strong IFIC by seven wickets in an unfinished match one of the three matches billed for yesterday at the Dhaka Stadium. In an unfinished match, which had fallen through on April 10 due to inclement weather, Biman resumed their innings of 40 for one in six overs and collected the required 92 runs for the loss of two more wickets.

IFIC featuring some star cricketers had earlier collected IM for six from the allotted 25 overs.

Biman who posted 132 for three got the bulk of the runs from Jahangir who made 39. Shanawaz Shaheed, another national cricketer contributed 34. Zakaria Imtiaz remained unbeaten on 29.

Biman “were engaged in a fascinating day-night contest with Techvalley in the first Cup semifinal when reports last came in. Biman batted first and

collected 1-25 for four from their quota of 35 overs.

Techvalley were 88 for four from 25 overs at the time of filing this report.

In a Plate quarterfinal tie held earlier in the day. Press Club went crashing to Grindlays Bank by 62 runs.

The Bankers batted first to muster 138 for six from 25 overs with Kajal making an unbeaten 40.
