The Court of Fourth Assistant Judge of Dhaka ves terday Issued notice upon the government to show cause within seven days as to why Its order asking the Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association to vacate the No 28 Topkhana Road house in the capital would not be declared Illegal

The show cause notice came after the association filed a civil suit on April 2 against the government order Issued last week.

The association had been using the Topkhana Road house as its office since 1972 after the house was declared abandoned property by the authorities. In 1987. the association purchased the house from the government at a price of Tk six lakh

However, the court recently gave a verdict in favour of Hajera Khatun and Zaved Akhter who claimed to own the house. Accordingly, the government ordered the vacation.

Meanwhile, the Photo Journalists Association was continuing agitation against the government order and It had bagged support of the Dhaka Union of Journalists the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists and the Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh.
