The Shipping Ministry has been implementing 34 projects with an estimated cost of Taka 138.38 crore including foreign exchange components of Tk 56.93 'crore in the current fiscal year, reports BSS.

This was informed at a review meeting in Dhaka yesterday on the progress of work of different projects under the Ministry of Shipping with Shipping Minister M K Anwar in the chair. '

The meeting discussed in details the progress of work of different projects under Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) and Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC).

It was informed that 11 projects were being implemented under BIwTA and seven projects under BIWTC this year.

The meeting was Informed that about 24.4 per cent progress had been achieved in the implementation of those projects under BIWTA during last seven months from July-93 to January-94.

About 60 per cent progress had been achieved in the execution of the projects under BIWTC during the seven months period from July-93 to January-94
