The coordination council of the Bar Associations. Bangla desh yesterday condemned the brutal armed attack on an election victory procession at Lalbagh Monday in which at least six persons were killed and nearly 50 other* injured, reports BSS.

In a joint statement, council President Shamsul Haq Chowdhury and - General Secretary AFM Mesbahuddin said that the government had no scope to ignore the re-sponsibility of such brutal Incident. They demanded punishment of the offenders respon sible for the incident. .

They also called upon the government to pay compensation of Taka ten lakh to each of the victims, died In the incident.

The council leaders observed that the incident might be part of deep-rooted conspiracy to disrupt democracy. They called upon all democratic people to be united to thwart such heinous designs of the vested quarters. They expressed deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved families.
