The deputy leader was ad dressing as the chief guest an advocacy meeting on AIDS at Bangladesh University ot Engineering and Technology (BUET) auditorium in the capital.

Prof Chowdhury said, over 50 per cent of Aids virus carriers in the world are found 1n

the age group of 14 25 and among tliem more than 90 per cent are infected by genital passage The youth, the precious wealth of the nation, must be told In plain and definite language how tt occurs and how to avoid It.

Describing AIDS as a sexually transmitted disease. Prof Chowdhury said, the chance of incidence of the disease due to physiological reason was higher among (women compared to the ■ man He urged the members of woman community remain vigl lant against the spread of AIDS virus through adopUon of vari ous preventive methods
