Education Minister Barrister Jamlruddin Sircar said yesterday that the present government had undertaken pragmatic programmes to build up strong infrastructure for the country's education sector, reports BSS

He said steps had been taken to develop two secondary schools, one college and one madrasha In each of 460 thanas of the country.

The education minister was speaking as the chief guest at the national conference of Facilities Department Diploma Engineers Association held at the premise of Shlkhkha Bhaban here. President of the association Slrajul Islam presided.

The education, minister said the government had already taken steps towards spreading education among the masses. He said the government was determined to eradicate illiteracy from the country by the year 2000.

Barrister Jamlruddin Sircar said mere spending of money would not give, good result to the people.
