President Abdur Rahman Biswas called upon the youths to devote themselves to the development activities of their respective areas and make them self-reliant through their hard work, reports BSS.

He said that the present, generation should be motivated towards achieving the prosperity of the nation by setting up macro industries.

The President was addressing a large youth delegation of the greater Mymensingh district when they called on him at Bangabhaban yesterday led by the convenor of the Mymensingh division implementation youth council Mahfuzur Rahman Babul, the function was also addressed, among others, by Yakub Khan Dulal and member-secretary Akbar All Bhuyan.

President Biswas said the present democratic government is striving hard to develop all the areas of the country in a balanced manner.-

Government had been providing loan facilities to the unemployed youths to establish small industries to create more Job opportunities, he said.

In this respect, he said that the youths should come forward with positive proposals for setting up poultry and dairy farms in their respective areas and stress should be given on shrimp culture to earn valuable foreign currency.

He urged the educated youths to contribute to the process of mass literacy drive started by the present government to increase rate of literacy in the country. He appreciated the glorious past of Myaienslngh district and" assured them that he would ex ert his good offices for overall development of the district.

Earlier, the delegation apprised the president of some of their demands including setting up of a new divisional headquarters at Mymensingh.
