President Abdur Rahn fan Biswas yesterday urged all to help the people to Jearn and practise the ideals of Islam in modern life and help maintain peace In the society, reports UNB.

Islam is a religion of peace, equality and fraternity the President said while talking Io a 20-member delegation of Al Ehsan Society who met him at Bangabhaban.

Led by Its Chairman Al-Haj Moulana Rafiqul Islam Armani the delegation in a metnoran dum apprised the President of the objectives of the society, including teaching of the holy Quran, organising seminar on Islam, setting up of mass edu cation centres and providing vocational training to minimise unemployment.

' He asked the society members to support the government programmes for mass education to enhance the rate of literacy in the country.

President Biswas said the present government is accountable to the members of the parliament and thus to the people of the country.
