Tile Ganotantrik Chhatra Oikya (GCO). an alliance of leftleaning student bodies, observed the day by laying wreaths at the Noor Hossain Square and holding students rally at the Dhaka University campus.

The GCO leaders, addressing the rally, alleged that the present government had betrayed the sacrifices of the martyrs of anti autocracy movement and was governing the country in an autocratic manner Democracy was yet to restore under the BNP government and the people who fought for democracy were totally frustrated, they added.
