NEW DELHI. Oct 9: India's revenue from income tax and corporation tax between April to September. 1993. fell marginally to 59.90 billion rupee compared to 60.51 billion rupee in the same 1992 period, the finance ministry said, reports Reuter.

"Despite clearing of large scale accumulated refunds totalling over 20 billion rupee, the total direct taxes revenue collections for April to September 1993 are almost equal to the revenue collections of last year." it said.

It said corporation lax collections at 28.10 billion rupee were down by 3.4 billion nqxte over the previous year.

If large refunds of nearly four billion rupee arc. Included, the

net corporation tax collections in April to September 1993 came to 32.13 billion rupee compared to 31.59 billion rupee in the same period in the previous year, the ministry said.

The trend of revenue collections Is satisfactory keeping In view the net total collections at the major centres of Bombay. Delhi. Calcutta and Madras which show a marked increase," the ministry said.
